I Samson New Anodized Finish

PCA's line up of 6 powder coat finishes has now expanded to include a clear anodized finish option.

We designed Samson originally as a replacement patio screen door. With the replacement market in mind, we offered our line-up of 6 powder coat colors; however, one of the finishes we didn’t have was anodized aluminum.

Over the last few years many of our contractors were asking for Samson in an anodized finish. This is an especially important option for patio projects that are framed with anodized aluminum. It is an equally important option for homes exposed to harsh coastal conditions where extra finish durability is needed. Until now, the only choice was to install white patio screen doors on an all anodized project. So, we are very pleased to be able to announce that Samson now comes in a clear anodized finish.

Our contractors asked, and we listened.

Many everyday objects are recognizable as ones that will never lose their color or coating. It is the same with the anodized aluminum used in PCA's Samson sliding patio screen doors. Because we use anodized aluminum to make our screen doors, they will never lose their durability and corrosive resistance.

The benefits of products made using anodized aluminum are many:

• Easily maintained and cleaned

Simply explained, there is a naturally occurring phenomenon that happens to aluminum called oxidation. Anodization is a process applied to aluminum to accelerate oxidation. It creates a porous surface, allowing color and sealant to be introduced. In this way, the color and sealant actually become part of the aluminum and are locked in permanently, creating an impenetrable surface to corrosion and scratching.

Samson Patio Screen Doors are built to out perform all other patio screen doors. Samson sliding screen doors are constructed of 2-1/2" x 1" x .055" aluminum wall thickness.

The union of both thick aluminum with powder coat (and now anodized aluminum) finish options is a powerful combination. It ensures our sliding patio screen doors will withstand hundreds of pounds of pressure (will not bend or twist), and it won't rust or rot from corrosion, even in the harshest, corrosive, coastal environments.
